Mantra on repeat lately.

inhale: my body is strong.

exhale: my heart is open

Repeat these words silently (or even out loud) to yourself as you breathe.

let them fill you up.

let them sink in.

let them nourish and comfort you.

let them guide and uplift you.

Our minds are powerful.

Our words are powerful.

Our thoughts become things.

What we feed becomes our truth.

We are powerful creators of our reality. And every moment, we can choose what kind of reality we want to create for ourselves. What are you feeding? What do you want to create more of? less of?

I’ve been meditating with this mantra a lot lately. It helps me not only tap into the present moment and into gratitude and appreciation for this body and heart of mine, but also fix my mind on the feelings, beliefs, and life I want to cultivate.

Because there were times lately when I’ve been worried about getting sick, and there have been moments these past few weeks when I wanted to close off my heart. It’s so easy and natural as human creatures for us to tip into anxiety, fear, anger, stress, doubt, and judgment - it’s how we’ve been wired, and using mantras can be an incredibly useful tool to shift our thoughts and re-wire our brain. I don’t want to live in fear. And I don’t want to live life with my heart closed off. So when I catch myself leaning into that, I have to choose differently. This mantra serves as a good reminder for me.
